FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The 2007 Arkansas Homecoming Court, announced this week, will be honored during halftime at this weekend’s Razorback football game against Florida International.
As announced by the Arkansas Student Government office, Katy O’Connell has been named this year’s queen. A native of Jacksonville/North Little Rock, Ark., she is the daughter of Peter and Peggy O’Connell. O’Connell is a senior marketing management major and is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi.
Four members of the court were also chosen. Rebecca Bradley is a native of Russellville and is the daughter of Dr. Stan and Kim Bradley. A senior political science major, she is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.Grace Kelley is a Little Rock native and a senior nursing major. The daughter of Hank and Stephanie Kelley, she is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Melisa Monts is a native of Springdale and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha. She is the daughter of Howard and Angela Monts and is a senior biology major.Chelsea Rose is the daughter of Dean and Denise Rose and is a native of Germantown, Tenn. A member of Chi Omega, she is a junior elementary education major.
Arkansas and Florida International will kick off at 1 p.m. at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Source
How Katy talked about the those honor...
After graduating from Mills, Katy made her way to the University of Arkansas in pursuit of degree in Marketing. She enjoyed collage life and made her mark on campus when she crowned homecoming queen in 2007. "It was a great experience because you are chosen for your involvement and the impact you make on campus," she says. "The university was looking to expand sorority life and had several national chapters come and make presentations. She also no stranger to being in the spotlight or having people cast vote for her. While attending University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, she was voted as homecoming queen during her senior year - an honor she credits to her sorority sisters. "They campaigned hard core for me" she said. When Alpha Omicron Phi decided to start chapter on campus, she become charter member and recruitment chair for their first year, "It was the hardest thing I do in my life but it was worth it", she said. - Woman (WWW)
